As a stop-over on our way to Nepal we spent one day in Chengdu- another huge Asian city, home to 14mio people. We expected little and maybe because we expected little, we really enjoyed our only day in China.

One can really feel the change and rapid development of Chengdu in the air. Many, many construction sites of road infrastructure and many new buildings! Also, there is this breeding research base for Giant Pandas..very, very cute! We arrived at lunchtime, so most of them slept somewhere in the trees, but still very nice to watch. In the evening we managed two tickets for the Sichuan Opera and saw an incredible Chinese performance. Xiexie!
